Ahead of its imminent launch of Redmi Note in India, Xiaomi is currently holding a contest on its Mi India Facebook page that elicits to show their creative side and WIN a Redmi Note free from Mi.

The contest to end today, Nov. 21, reads:

“Want to WIN a Redmi Note? Share this & submit a picture (A click or a design/drawing by you) which shows how much you want to own a Redmi Note in the comment box below. The most creative image WINS.

It also encourages them to tag along their friends by inviting them to join the giveaway!

Xiaomi’s known face in India Hugo Barra said Redmi Note will be released in India next month. In an official Facebook page, he posted: “Mi Indonesia: 10,000 Redmi Note out of stock in under 40 secs today! Redmi Note coming to India next.”

contestGoing by Xiaomi India head Manu Jain, it may hit shelves next month, though no exact date was given by him. However, pre-Christmas period is likely to mark its entry online via FlipKart.

The company is also contemplating its own e-commerce portal replacing the Flipkart platform but Jain, who came from Jabong, is not committing on this front right away.

Redmi Note, to be priced Rs.9999, will feature a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, with 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM. Other features include 8GB onboard memory, microSD card slot up to 32GB, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front one for selfies and a 3100mAh battery. It runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI OS.

The Redmi Note, already launched in Taiwan is creating record sales with 10,000 units sold in just one second.

Its Mi3 was selling 40,000 units in 4.2 seconds in India before its removal from Flipkart online sale. Currently, its Redmi 1S sells 40,000 to 65,000 units every Tuesday on Flipkart.
