Xiaomi is all set to unveil its two new products on April 15 and again on April 23 but leaked information in singapore has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 4i is actually a lower-end version of the Xiaomi Mi 4 powered by the Snapdragon 615 SoC, with 2GB RAM.
Set for release on April 23, the leaks are common in media with companies themselves giving out information in bits and pieces to selected websites or share partial information ahead of the release to build momentum to the actual grand release. Xiaomi said in a tweet, “i is coming” and added that “Are all screens of the same size the same? #iDISAGREES. RT your thoughts.”
Another mysterious Xiaomi “Ferrari” handset was leaked on GFXBench website last month and the Chinese budget phone maker may be releasing the device purportedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processors with 2GB of RAM this month itself.
Ferrari is also rumored to be featuring a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, using the same panel as that of the original Mi 4, sporting an internal storage capacity of 16GB, expandable up to 64GB with a microSD slot.
With a 13-megapixel camera on the back, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera are among the other features leaked so far in the media. Running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, the device is also expected to come with Xiaomi’s MIUI on top of Google’s operating system.
On connectivity front, the device is expected to feature 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM and a mid-range price structure, said reports. The Xiaomi Mi 4 is being sold at Rs 19,999 for the 16GB model and Rs 23,999 for the 64GB variant and.
Another interesting feature is that Xiaomi is planning to unveil the Ferrari and Mi 4i first in India owing to the large demand for its devices in India, with a huge price-conscious buyers for its products.
However, the estimates are that the handset will be priced around Rs.15,000 ($241), according to leaks, most of them are estimated figures.With 10 days to go for the release of the device, more leaks are likely to come out on its specs, features and price soon.
