Wonderla Holidays Says Fake Video Resurfaced to Damage its Reputation

Following the viral video that showed a girl falling to death from a giant wheel and the text indicating that it took place in Hyderabad, the Wonderla Holidays quickly reacted stating that no such incident took place in its park and that the video could have re-surfaced from an old incident which could have happened in some other country altogether.

Bimalendu Tarafdar, Marketing Head of Wonderla Holidays said the recent reports were accusatory and the incident could not have happened in India as the burqa-clad bodyguards is never a reality. Several such videos on Youtube suggest that “the video being circulated in the name of Wonderla is fake.”

Here is a list of video links which shows the same incident linking various parks at different point of time, according to Tarafdar:

“As per the description the above 2 videos were captured in Aladin park, Karachi… Exactly the same video surfaces after 2.5 years,” he said and added that the video https://youtu.be/z9Mn5Z4X-zw that was published on Apr 5, 2016 actually came from an FB profile of the publisher, who is from Florida.

Deploring sensationalisation when popular brands are involved, he said the media should clarify the truth. It may be noted that Wonderla Hyderabad poses strong competition to already established amusement parks in Hyderabad.
