Why Farah Khan, Shah Rukh Khan Don’t Take Each Other For Granted Now?

Director Farah Khan has revealed that the Happy New Year project was in fact, delayed due to the fight between her husband and Shahrukh Khan but now they are good friends again and they don’t take each other for granted.

The fight between her husband Shirish Kunder and Shahrukh Khan at a party hosted by Sanjay Dutt in 2012 turned them hostile for quite some time and Farah went ahead with her third film featuring Akshay Kumar. In fact, it turned out so ugly that Shahrukh Khan barged into the film’s audio release event in Mumbai uninvited. The fight went on for some time and finally they were patched up in time for the Happy New Year project to take off last year.

Now that both old-time friends who had produced three films together — Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year — are indeed, happy to see their friendship grow again and see business in films a better bet than old enmity.

In fact, Farah Khan too realised that her third film Tees Maar Khan with Akshay Kumar did not do well at the box office and she says the film has taught her a lesson to see the bright side of SRK. "I think we don’t take each other for granted anymore. When you lose a friendship like that, you realise the worth of it," she told PTI.

"It is true that failure is the best teacher. Success gives you a high and you feel that you can?t do anything wrong. But failure forces you to take stock. I have realised that I will not make films in a rush. A script will take at least two years. Even mediocre films by others work but this does not happen with me. Somehow, people expect quality from me," she told the media.

The director friend of SRK is currently on tour with the cast of HNY in the US with "Slam! The Tour". Once the film is released for Diwali, she plans to take six months off from the movie world to go on vaccation with her husband and family.

Happy New Year also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah, is scheduled for release on October 24.
