UGC NET July 2016 Exam Results to be Declared Today

The bi-annual UGC exam NET for research fellowships and eligibility for Lecturer posts across the universities will be declared today by the CBSE, which donducted the exam in July 2016.

Candidates are advised to check the official website of CBSE-NET once they are uploaded. Click on the link ‘NET July 2016’ and enter the required registration number and other details. The results will be displayed on the screen and candidates are advised to take a printout and also save a soft copy for future use.

The exam is conducted twice in a year — in July and again in December every year. This time, more than 8 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

Introduced in 1984, the UGC NET is meant for research fellowships and it is also a basic requirement to get lecturer jobs in central universities, though the rules have been gradually diluted under political pressure in state and regional universities over the period.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) exam in recent years but has communicated to the UGC that it may not be in a position to continue due to the increased number of exams thrusted on its shoulders. The UGC is likely to conduct the exam on its own soon but transparency has always been the victim as the UGC lacked infrastructure to hold the NET.
