Undeterred by NASA’s silence, UFO afficianados have ramped up another theory that the honeycomb formations surrounding a Martian crater image by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter are not eroded sand dunes, but the superstructure of a ventilation roof for an underground city inhabited by tiny aliens.
NASA had described it as a heavily eroded mesa in Noctis Labyrinthyuson, in the western end of Valles Marineris that measure less than a half kilometer in width. But Scott C. Waring, author of the blog “UFO Sightings Daily” said the striated valleys of the labyrinthine formation are more like the filter-like maw of a baleen whale (see picture below).
“You see that below the baleen structures is nothing but blackness, so I assume that this a ventilation roof of an underground city. With an environment as harsh and unforgiving as Mars, you want to be underground where the temperature is much more tolerable day in and day out,” he explained in his new blog post.
Waring, known for his bizarre posts in the past showing a squirrel, ground hog and monkey hanging on the surface of the Red Planet, has used the latest image showing 400-metre mesa, one of several surrounded by sand dunes in Noctis Labyrinthyus. It resembles an ulcerated wound, he argues.
