Apple’s chairman and its iconic CEO for decades Steve Jobs passed away on Wednesday.

Born on Feb. 24, 1955 to an American mother and Syrian father, Steve was given away in adoption. He later grew up in California and was among the first to foresee the technological innovation in the field of computers.

He was one of the co-founders of Apple which rolled out Mac series of computers and later the iphone, iPod, and iPad series, which have turned the fortunes of Apple to reach the top position in the industry.

He resigned as Apple CEO in August owing to his ill-health and passed away on Wednesday.

While the shocking news is yet to grip many Apple fans, here is AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, who said: “We are saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was an iconic inventor, visionary, and entrepreneur, and we had the privilege to know him as partner and friend. All of us at AT&T offer our thoughts and prayers to Steve’s wife, family, and his Apple family.”
