Fan posterShah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Fan’ received good response on day one with the box office collections touching ₹ 19.20 crore in India and $2.7 million (₹ 17.93 cr) in overseas markets, said trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweets.

He tweeted on Saturday saying, “#Fan records FANTASTIC biz on Fri. Plexes/metros are ROCKING. Fri ₹ 19.20 cr. India biz. Sat+Sun biz is crucial to put up a STRONG total.” In another tweet, he gave the overseas earnings on Thursday and Friday together as “#Fan Overseas: Thu + Fri $ 2.7 million [₹ 17.93 cr].” Withe more centres overseas yet to report, the figure may still go up.

So, the total earnings of ‘Fan’ film reach Rs.37.13 croreso far and today’s earnings are expected to be higher in view of the weekend holidays. The only other film which is grossing good at box office still is “The Jungle Book” which is running in its second week but giving tough challenge to ‘Fan’ in the multiplexes and cities. Otherwise, ‘Fan’ earned much less than Salman Khan’s films “Bajrangi Bhaijan” that minted Rs.27 crore on its opening day, or “Kick” that earned Rs.25 crore on its opening day.

Here is a record of top films with maximum earnings on day one in Hindi film industry:

Bajrangi Bhaijaan Opening Day Collections–Rs.27crore
Kick Opening Day Collections –Rs.25crore
Fan Opening Day Collections — Rs.20crore.

  1. They expected the movie to open at 23-25 crore but it opened with 19.70 crore. And that too with 3500 screens domestic screens.

Now on second day it falls again to 17 crores. The main websites are withholding the second days big drop in collections, and have not yet reported the total second days domestic collection even till 1 pm. No updates at all.

Has the movie flopped already? Then it will be the first big flop for a Khan from the Khan triumvirate.
