Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd said the box-office collection of ‘Happy New Year’ after its first week stood at Rs 157.57 crore in domestic market and it was a record in the company’s history too.
Venky Mysore, Red Chillies CEO said, “As a production house, it is very gratifying for us that Happy New Year has beaten the record set by Chennai Express in 2013, also a Red Chillies production.”
Gaurav Verma, the chief revenue officer of Red Chillies was more forthcoming on expanding the film’s reach in other continents and countries.
“The response to Happy New Year is overwhelming across the globe. We look forward to the next few weeks as Happy New Year opens in more territories in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin and North America,” said Verma.
‘Happy New Year’ was produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd and Directed by Farah Khan with a budget of Rs.180 crore. Released on October 24, a day after Diwali, the film roared to success on its very first day with Rs.44.9 crore in box office collections.
Worldwide, the film is said to have crossed Rs.250 crore in gross box office collections.
