Snapdeal vs Flipkart vs Amazon, Whose Deal is Good?

While Flipkart wanted to repeat its mega-sale bonanza from October 13, this time nto for a day but for a week starting from October 13 under “#BigBillionDays”, each day devoted to discounts in one segment of its retail products, Snapdeal has opened similar discounts on Monday itself, one day in advance.

Not left behind, Amazon has also unleashed a campaign on TV for its week-long retail sales commencing Tuesday. With three online retailers announcing a more-than-ever campaign to attract the buyer’s attention.

Last year, Flipkart’s BigBillion Day Sale saw $100 million worth sales within 10 hours despite one-hour website crash. Last year both Snapdeal and Amazon benefited when the Flipkart website crashed during the peak hour.

After realizing their highest sales online, both the retailers are gearing up for the event on their own publicity this year. Snapdeal even went ahead with top Bollywood hero Aamir Khan sponsoring its sale this time.

Since, Flipkart has limited the BigBillionDays offer only to mobile apps and not to those on desktops owing to its website crash last year, Snapdeal chief took a dig at its rival for being only app-based sale.

Similar shopping sprees and discounts are held in other countries. For instance, the Cyber Monday and Black Friday in the US, the Singles’ Day sale in China by Alibaba Group paved the way for Flipkart to experiment it India and the response was huge that the retailer has to overhaul its tech base ever since to match similar demand in the future.

Otherwise, on Monday, Snapdeal jumped the gun with its offer of electronics sale offering discounts on smartphones, laptops and other electronic and home appliances. The heat is high on Snapdeal to increase its sales this festive season as its last three-month figures were not impressive and rather disappointing to its investors. In fact, the festive sales account for nearly half of their annual sales in India.

While it will be known later in the day about the Snapdeal’s one-day in advance sale performance, Flipkart’s rival Amazon India has coincided its discount sale exactly on the same days starting from Tuesday, October 13. Amazon has not restricted sales to its app but the company promised higher discounts for app-based purchases.

Apart from the Big 3, even new entrant Paytm is in the frey with their own discount offers.

Here is a look at some of the best deals for products. This provides a quick comparison to buy what, where and the riders, if any.

Snapdeal: Snapdeal has offered 50% discount on its electronics goods, 40% on home and living items and 40 to 70 % on its fashion or clothing items. It is giving 80% off on its car perfumes.
