Bollywood actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, knwon for his character roles in the 1980s and 90s died of lung cancer on Sunday-Monday midnight at 2:45 am with interstitial lung disease or sort of lung cancer at the Kolkilaben Dhurubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai, aged 64.
He was offered a role in “Ardh Satya” first in Bollywood that rose to popular villain roles in more than 100 films and warded Filmfare award twice. in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters and three grand-children. His body will be kept at Bhaidas Auditorium in Vile Parle west today and the cremation will be performed on Tuesday at his hometown in Ahmednagar on Tuesday at 4pm.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first on Monday to condole the death of the veteran actor, who he says, will be remembered for his versatility.
“We will remember Sadashiv Amrapurkar as a versatile actor, popular across generations. RIP. My deepest condolences to his family,” said Modi in his Twitter handle @narendramodi.
Arvind Kejriwal of AAP too said, “Sadashiv amrapurkar’death is a great loss. He was an active supporter of AAP. May his soul RIP. Heartfelt condolences to bereaved family,” in his Twitter message this morning. Even Rajdeep Sardesai was among those to join the political leaders to express his condolences.
