It was not long ago when Bahubali director SS Rajamouli said there will be no "Bahubali 3" though the franchise to make it an online game or other merchandise would go on. But now the director seems to have changed his mind when he said on Friday that the film title will remain a franchise, hinting at more Bahubali series in the pipeline.
The first one "Baahubali: The Beginning" released in 2015 had created new record in Indian film industry while the sequel, already sold out for Rs.500 crore to distributors and rights holders, is likely to create a new record.
On Thursday, March 16, 2017, Youtube had witnessed one of the world’s most viral movie trailer of "Bahubali – The Conclusion" with one million views recorded in one hour’s time. In a span of 24 hours, the trailer hit a record 12.6 million in Hindi and almost doule the number at 22.6 million in Telugu version on Youtube, while other platforms received not less than 3 million each. Overall, the number is around 50 million or 5 crore views in one day.
Bahubali, an epic historical fictional drama, was a huge success and its sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion, releasing on April 28, 2017 is already making huge beeline from its fans. The release of its trailer was already a big hit in cinema circles that on Friday, director SS Rajamouli and hero Prabhas and main antagonist Rana Daggubati, made the announcement that Bahubali will be turned into franchise. And present were the film’s Hindi version presenter Karan Johar and Anil Thadani of AA Films.
So, it remains to be seen whether ‘Bahubali’ would keep churning out more sequels a-la, Bond films.
