Junior NTR starrer “Rabhasa” turned out to be a second best opener for the actor after “Badshah” with box office collections for Friday at Rs.8.85 crore, according to Andhraboxoffice.com.
However, the opening day collections are quite impressive and within the expected league of top films like his other films “Dammu” which collected Rs.8.05 crore and “Ramayya Vastavayya” at Rs.8.7 crore. It is Rs.40 lakhs less than his best film “Badshah”.
“Rabhasa” is, however, expected to do better on Sunday due to to weekend holiday coupled with Ganesh Chathurthi holidays in Nizam or Telangana regions. Going by early trends, the film will have to run in packed theatres this week, collecting at least Rs.40 crore.
Directed by Santhosh Srinivas, “Rabhasa” features Jr.NTR, Samantha, Pranitha, Jayasudha, Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam, Seetha and Jaya Prakash Reddy. With music provided by Thaman and cinematography by Shyam K. Naidu, the film is produced by cash-rich Bellamkonda Suresh.
With the release of Ravi Teja’s “Power” next week, on Sept. 5, “Rabhasa” is under pressure to collect the best possible box office collections this week, which is also a festive one as Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated all around.
