President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee passed away on Tuesday morning, after suffering from heart ailments.
Born on 17 Sept. 1940, Surva was married to Pranab Mukherjee when she was 17 years and in their 58 years of marriage they never fought even for a single day, she once said in her interview.
She passed away on Tuesday morning at the army Hospital in New Delhi where she was admitted in ICU on August 7 that forced the President to cancel his Odisha tour and rush to the capital. She was suffering from heart problem.

Since she was ill for the last two years, her daughter Sharmishtha Mukherjee was taking care of the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s protocol affairs for the President. Surva Mukherjee’s son Abhijeet is a Congress MP from West Bengal.
