A year after Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zukcerberg paid visit to India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be among the top state heads to visit the Facebook headquarters at San Francisco where he will address a townhall or meeting with staff and answer queries during his US visit to attend the UN session.
The visit scheduled on September 27, 2015 will also explore how communities can work together to face challenges of poverty, said Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his official FaceBook page.
“I’m excited to announce that Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India will be visiting Facebook HQ later this month for a Townhall Q&A. Prime Minister Modi and I will discuss how communities can work together to address social and economic challenges.” Zuckerberg wrote in his post. “I had the chance to visit Prime Minister Modi in India last year and it’s an honor to have the chance to host him here at Facebook.”
Back home, Modi has invited the questions for Townhall Question and Answer(Q&A) session at Facebook Headquarters and thanked Zuckerberg for the invite. The Prime Minister wrote in his Facebook post:
“I thank Mr. Mark Zuckerberg for the invite to visit the Facebook HQ. I look forward to the Townhall Q&A on Sunday 27th September at 10 PM IST (9:30 AM Pacific time). The interaction will cover a wide range of issues and will surely be a memorable one. This programme will be incomplete without your participation! Share your questions on Facebook. I urge you all to share your questions on the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App.’ Your questions will make this a programme to be remembered.”
The Facebook CEO also invited questions from his staff and followers for the Indian Prime Minister. “We want to hear your questions. Please ask them in the comments below and we’ll try to get to as many as possible,” he said and wrote that a live video on his profile will be visible on Modi’s official Facebook page.
Zuckerberg said in his last meeting with Modi, the use of social media in stemming the growing terror activities was discussed among many other issues. Modi is meeting US President Barack Obama the next day after his visit to Facebook on the sidelines of the UN session in New York.
