Manipal University MUOET 2017 B.Tech Admission Results in May Last week, Cutoff Estimate

Manipal University is currently conducting its admission exam  MUOET 2017 and the results will be announced in the last week of May 2017. Once the results are declared, students can check their performance and ranking at the following official results page of the Manipal University.

With fees for B.Tech courses increased from Rs.12 lakhs earlier to Rs.14 lakhs now, not many students are keen to join the University though it remained one of the choices for many non-Kannadiga students.

The engineering entrance MUOET 2017 may see cutoff point likely less than last year’s in view of the combined JEE-Mains 2017 where all the college admissions for engineering have been brought under one umbrella and students are likely to get a seat in one or the other college before opting for Manipal University.

The fee hike by Manipal University has been far high compared to other engineering institutions since satya Nadella, one of its alumni became Microsoft CEO. From Rs.2.4 lakh per annum in 2014, it rose to Rs.3 lakhs in 2015 and now it is more than Rs.3.5 lakh per annum. Otherwise, it is ranked 39th among all Engineering Colleges in India under national NIRF 2016.

From MUOET 2015 onwards, students taking online tests will come to know their marks immediately after the exam which is helpful for them to look for other colleges as well in case they score less.

Otherwise, the cutoff rank for the most-sought-after course — computer science — was at 1753 in 2015 and is likely to be less than 1800 this year and for aeronautical engineering, the cutoff point was usually around 10,000.

Test Pattern:

Group 2: (Applicable to BTech/ BPharm/ PharmD courses). Duration- 2.30 hours, Questions-200 (MCQ). The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
Physics -50, Chemistry-50, Mathematics-70, English & General Aptitude-30.

Test Syllabus: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General English include questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards /Universities. The detailed syllabi can be downloaded from their website www.admissions.manipal.edu.
