‘Magadheera’ fame Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal in their third film together in “Govindudu Andarivadele” could not recreate the same kind of success but nonetheless the duo remained equally successful going by the box office collections on the opening day, which was Rs.8.62 crore.
Individually, GAV is slightly behind Ram Charan’s ‘Yevadu’ released earlier this year but being a family comedy, the film based on old storyline has done better compared to other big banner releases like Mahesh Babu’s “1 Nenokkadine” or jr. NTR’s “Ramayya Vastavayya” figures.
Compared to Pawan Kalyan’s “Attarintiki Daredi” with its top box office collections at Rs.10.75 crore, or Mahesh Babu’s “Aagadu” with Rs.9.5 crore, GAV is far behind. In fact, Jr NTR’s “Badshah” is still the third-highest grosser at Rs.9.25 crore, followed by his own latest film “Rabhasa” that minted Rs.8.85 crore and behind it is his own film “Ramayya Vastavayya” with Rs.8.7 crore.
Ram Charan’s “Yevadu” with Rs.8.65 crore is still among the top six films with maximum box office collections. His latest film, that too with his lucky co-actress Kajal has raked in Rs.8.62 crore surpassing the record of their second film “Naayak” that has earned Rs.8.55 crore. Next comes “Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu” with Rs.8.65 crore.
Now Ram Charan’s “Govindudu Andarivadele” stands 8th in the list of top grossers on opening day with its record of Rs.8.62 crore, while Pawan Kalyan’s “Gabbar Singh” with its Rs.8.15 crore on the opening day comes in the 9th position followed by Jr NTR’s “Dammu” with Rs.8.05 21:56 04-10-2014crore.
More than the opening day collections, Ram Charan’s “Govindudu Andarivadele” TV rights were reportedly sold for Rs.8 crore, which was a record in itself.
