KKR Wins Pepsi IPL 7 Season, Lifts Trophy

IPL 7Shahrukh Khan’s boys have lifted the Pepsi IPL 2014 trophy chasing 200 runs against Kings XI Punjab at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday.

Punjab team was able to make 199 with W. Saha making a century but others have failed to make a mark in making a good run record.

When KKR came to the crease, it was a shock when Virender Sehwag was out in the very first over raising hopes for Kings but soon other players fought back to make runs despite losing many wickets in reaching the target with a boundary by  Piyush Chawla.

Here are some initial reactions:

  • Akram: “I am shattered! 9 games on the trot is an incredible performance. The best thing about this team is that they’ve supported each other all the way through.”

  •  Morkel: “It’s amazing. I was feeling very nervous waiting to bat, but we’ve done it.”
  •  Uthappa: “This is surreal. I don’t think we’re going to stop celebrating for days!”
  •  Shakib: “Two wins in three years is great. When we lost two quick wickets, we were under a bit of pressure, but we did it.”
  •  Chawla: “I’m not usually very emotional, but this was so big. I was waiting for the short ball from Johnson, so I knew it would come eventually. Shakib has been too good.”
Manish: “I got the opportunity to get runs in the Final, and it’s a great feeling to get this win.”
