Prince William Kate Middleton have apparently been toying with the idea of naming their next child, a baby girl, after Princess Diana, and a pointer in the direction is that the Duchess of Cambridge is putting together all the memorabilia of her never-met mother-in-law in a treasure box to show her kids.
Quoting a source, OK Magazine said that Kate Middleton has collected some belongings of Princess Diana in a treasure chest and her husband Prince William and his brother Prince Harry too lent her a helping hand to gather them together.
The collection is “kind of like a dowry or hope chest and has things in there that the boys have kept from when their mother was alive,” said the source.
The idea of collecting her kids’ grandma is Kate Middleton’s idea, said the source adding that Princess Diana was “still her babies’ grandmother and wants them to understand just how special she was to the world.”
Kate Middleton’s collection of Princess Diana’s belongings include her jewellery, letters, photos and some recorded tapes that Princess Diana kept for her sons to listen when she is away on royal duties.
Rumours are also afloat that both Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning to name their daughter after Princess Diana as they are sure to have a baby girl. It may spark new trouble with Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II, as Princess Diana was estranged with them towards her later life.
But for Prince William “Having a baby girl who carried her name will be a beautiful reminder of Diana every time he looks at his daughter,” said source in his revelation to the publication.
Kate Middleton is likely to give birth to the second royal child in the second half of April.
