Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment in Chennai's Apollo Hospitals for the last two months

Jayalalithaa News: Chennai-Bound Buses Cancelled

Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) has cancelled many Chennai-bound buses, especially from Tirupathi and Chittore owing the unpredictable developments on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s heart attack and her current situation in Apollo Hospitals.

While many VIPs and MPs are queueing up to Apollo hospital in Chennai to enquire about Jayalalithaa’s health, the hospital said that she is still on ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and they are trying their level best.

Jayalalithaa was hospitalized on Sept. 22 and her condition slightly improved in the third week of November, so she was shifted to a private room from the ICU. But she suffered a heart attack on the night of Sunday prompting doctors to rush her back to the ICU, where she is on support system.

Essentially, Jayalalithaa’s condition stems from a situation when the lungs get higher fluid content and fail to provide enough oxygen to heart to pump. Being a diabetic, Jayalalithaa’s initial hospitalization was for fluids in her lungs.

Meanwhile, Chennai top police personnel of the state and central government have been on alert since morning in their full uniform while Tamil Nadu governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao has called for a meeting of senior ministers and leaders of AIADMK, indicating the seriousness of the situation.
