IPL opening ceremony in Kolkata on April 7; Will SRK rock again?

The opening ceremony of the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on April 7, said a statement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today, Wednesday.

The ceremony will start at 7.30 pm will feature some of the “big names in Bollywood” but the identities of the artists who will perform at the event was kept secret.

“The names of the artists will be announced soon,” BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether Shahrukh Khan will take the stage or not this time. Last time he missed it in view of the film Happy New Year in the making. Otherwise, he owns the IPL Kolkata team KKR.

The online ticket sales of the tournament’s opening ceremony will commence at 5 pm on Wednesday and theĀ minimum price of the ticket is Rs.200.

The box office ticket sales will commence later, and the first match will be held on April 8.Ā In the first match, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will face Mumbai Indians in Kolkata.
