IPL 2017: Today’s Match Gujarat Lions Vs Delhi Daredevils – Preview

Today’s IPL match will be played by Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils more to save dignity and pride than ending last in the tally on the Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 10 points table.

The IPL 2017 GL vs DD match will be played at the Greeen Park, Kanpur and the live broadcast can be seen on Sony TV (Sony Pictures Network). The live broadcast of the GL vs DD IPL 2017 match will start at 8pm IST and it will be stremed live online on Hotstar.

Propsects of any team benefitting from the match are slim. For the Gujarat Lions, even if they win both their remaining matches, they end up at 12 points, while DD goes on to win their remaining three fixtures, they may edge out at 14 points, far below the required points for the next level.

Otherwise, both teams are lacking good hands this time. Gujarat Lions will be missing Brendon McCullum, who was injured and the Delhi Daredevils will miss two players — Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris — who have returned to their national team’s commitments and Angelo Mathews will return to lead Sri Lankan national team in preparation for their forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

Gujarat Lions now depend on their run getters Suresh Raina and Aaron Finch for a decent score while Delhi Daredevils depend on Sanju Samson, the highest run-getter this season with 374 runs.

Bowlers on both sides are impressive though. The Gujarat Lions’ Basil Thampi and the Delhi Daredevils’ Zaheer Khan and Mohammed Shami are well paced to perform in their roles.

Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman, score 97 when both teams met last time. Will he repeat the feat and cross the century target this time? Let’s see!

Minus McCullum, Gujarat may forfeit its standing in the game giving away another feather in Delhi Daredevils’ cap.
