So far, KXIP have recorded convincing wins in each of their four matches — six wickets margin int thier match against Chennai Super Kings, seven wickets vs Rajasthan Royals, 72 runs versus Sunrisers Hyderabad and 23 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. With their impressive batting order, their bowlers often stepped up just when required and polished off the KKR line-up in a clinical manner.

Royal Challengers Bangalore started the season on a convincing note with two wins over Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians but soon lost their way against the Kolkata Knight Riders, and then the Rajasthan Royals. After the disastrous performance, skipper Virat Kohli said his team just did not prepare for the match and hoped to forget the defeat as quickly as possible. Will they do it today?

Glenn Maxwell may continue to be the mainstay in KXIP’s scheme but the Australian made his lowest score (15) in the previous match, before exiting after a dangerous Sunil Narine throw. KXIP is relieved that Virender Sehwag got back to make runs and should get it going. Among the others, David Miller and Mitchell Johnson will have to support with their batting and bowling skills respectively.

Yuvraj Singh, trying to fill the the gap left by Chris Gayle, RCB will look for runs from skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the pair that kept the ruch-chase in tact throughout the season and also ranked first and second respectively in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings.

Previous Meetings:

Kings XI Punjab have the best record so far in IPL 2014 and have won 7 of the 12 matches against the RCB to give them a success rate of 58.33 percent.

RCB haven’t defeated KXIP since 20 April 2012 – after which they have ended up on the wrong side of the result thrice.

Nine out of 12 matches between KXIP and RCB the game have gone in favour of the team chasing.

David Miller scored his only century in T20 cricket against the RCB in IPL 2013. Prediction: RCB will have to go for every strike and chase runs to win or else wrap up another match that is destined to go in favour of Kings XI Punjab.
