INDIA Lost T20 Semifinals in Last Over Despite High Hopes

In a major disappointment to India, its captain MS Dhoni and his No.2 Virat Kohli, India exited from the T20 ICC World Cup 2016 on Thursday despite making an impressive 192 in 20 overs.  The final will have England vs West Indies in World Cup Twenty20.

While West Indies team was relatively on defensive initially, Indian bowlers proved futile in their bid to reach finals as Simmons was saved twice due to no ball as bowlers crossed the line while bowling.

The score was 196 for 19.3 overs and expectations and predictions changed ever since they crossed 100 runs making a pace faster than that of India.

Perhaps, Virat Kohli may get comfort in the fact that he made more than 80 runs in the match. In fact, he was given a chance to bowl the last over and do a repeat of Hero cup semi final by Tendulkar. But his luck was not great.

Here are some initial reactions:

Lendl Simmons (MoM): I got a call from the team in the morning. I had to deliver and I delivered

Broken Cricket (@BrokenCricket) “It was India’s own IPL cost India 2016 World T20!”
