HUDHUD Wreaks Havoc, 24 Km Away from Visakhapatnam (Photos)

The Hudhud cyclone is 24 km away from hitting the Visakhapatnam coast while sea water is seen gushing 30 feet inside nearby villages and it may hit at 12 noon, with local authorities clearing trees on roads on a war-footing. Helpline 1100 is active for information.

Hudhud just crossed Kailasagiri near Visakhapatnam, said the latest update. Next two hours will see heavy rainfall and wind speeds at around 140 and 180 kmph.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Chandrababu Naidu, as Cyclone Hudhud made landfall in the state. He assured Mr Naidu of all possible assistance in relief and rescue operations.
