Eid al-Adha 2016: Wishes, Messages, Significance, Quotes, SMS Messages for Bakrid

Eid Al-Adha also known as Bakrid or the feast of sacrifice is one of the most important festivals for Muslims around the world.

Bakrid is also known as the feast of sacrifice because the legend goes that on this day disciple Hazrat Ibrahim who obeyed God’s command and was about to sacrifice his son Ismail. But then God through his Angel Jibrail informed him that his sacrifice was already accepted.

The myth says the all followers of Allah are expected to sacrifice something which means a lot to them on this day.

Eventually, Bakrid marks sacrificing a goat and then dividing its meat into three equal parts, to share  with their family, relatives and with the poor and needy. Bakrid is all about giving and sacrificing.
