Producers of Baahubali are planning to trim both their highly successful films — “Baahubali: The Beginning” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion” into less than two hours of duration from their five-hour duration so that the English version of Bahubali can hit the English-speaking nations around the globe.
Moreover, ‘Baahubali’ needs no introduction but viewers have no option but to see the film either in an Indian language or with subtitles. So far, the film has been dubbed into Chinese and Japanese but an English version never occurred to the makers.
But now that ‘Dangal’ has made waves in China, the scope for a film to succeed in any linguistic form is a viable option for the makers of Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali’.
Arka Mediaworks, which has made the film, is reportedly working on editing the film removing all the songs and some portions to bring the duration down to 150 minutes or two-and-a-half hour movie. However, it would be less than the English legend film ‘Titanic’ that runs for more than three hours.
Japanese and Korean movies for children often made to suit the English-speaking countries and the huge following for ‘Goku’ series surpasses all other films when it comes to children’s preference. Now that ‘Baahubali’ can get into similar category of fantasy, it may even outdo all other genre of entertainment in English.
Once the film is edited carefully and dubbed into English, the viewer base for ‘Baahubali’ may cover all the English-speaking countries of US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, and South Africa in one go.
