India’s old and relatively credible beauty pageant Femina Miss India is has kicked off the screening session in 19 cities across the country to give young, gorgeous girls the opportunity to enter the contest to be the next Miss India 2015.
Running into its 52nd year, the Femina Miss India pageant organisers have listed 19 cities where they will hold the preliminary screening, divided into three layers — the city auditions, regional auditions and city pageants.
City auditions will be held in 13 cities — Dehradun, Jaipur, Lucknow, Shimla in the North zone; Guwahati and Bhubaneshwar in the East zone; Ahmedabad, Goa, Nagpur, Indore, Bhopal in the West zone; Hyderabad and Chennai in the South zone.
Next level screening will be regional auditions, which will be held in Chandigarh, Bangalore and Pune, and in the city auditions, the selection will be held as City pageants at Delhi and Kolkata before the final auditions in Mumbai. Once selected, the finalists will undergo rigorous training before the grand finale to be held in March.
For the year 2015, the pageant title sponsor is fbb, a fashion brand with its slogan, ‘Make India thoda aur stylish’. The event is is powered by Neutrogena, the skin brand.
The training encompasses a dynamic, holistic and rigorous programme for the contestants, and the pageant also provides the winners a chance to win crores of gratification awards besides the fame that may propel them into the tinsel town with offers from the Bollywood.
Some of the well-known faces of Femina Miss India are Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra. So far, the Femina Miss India has brought fame to the country with 39 international titles, said organisers.
For 2015 event, the Miss India Organizers have taken a leaf of lesson from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Mission” and taken a pledge towards a cleaner India by
volunteering for the mission that they said will make India a cleaner and greener country.
