Top players from South America have gathered in Santiago as the 44th edition of the South American Championship is all set to start fromThursday, June 11.

The tournament that is organized by South America’s football governing body, CONMEBOL will 10 teams participate along with two invitees from CONCACAF, Jamaica and Mexico.

Jamaica got the opportunity to play in the tournament after Japan and China turned down the proposals.

The hosts will try to break their curse of failed attempts to win the title for 99 years. It will mark their 37th attempt in trying to win the tournament. The former Barcelona star is also coming off after a superb season with Arsenal where he was the star player, helping the Gunners finish third in the Premier League as well as clinch the FA Cup title. The host nation will resort upon him to spread his magic that has stunned the football world since his arrival in Arsenal.

James Rodriguez

The 23-year-old, Columbian is the brightest start of his team. After winning the Golden Boot in 2014 FIFA World Cup for scoring the most number of goals, he has had a wonderful season in Real Madrid. He definitely promises to produce some amazing football.
