On Tuesday, Copa America 2015 will see the face-off between two of the most successful and power houses of football of Latin America as defending champions Uruguay takes on last year’s World Cup finalists, Argentina.2015_Copa_América_Chile.svg

Led by the little magician, Lionel Messi, Argentina will look to avenge their 2011 Copa America loss to Uruguay that snatched away their chance of winning a record 15th Copa America title.

The feat was instead achieved by Uruguay as they now have the most number of Copa America titles (15) in their bag.

Argentina made a mediocre start by tying their opening match with Paraguay 2-2. After having a 2-0 lead until the final minutes of the match, Messi and his squad gave away the match to gain only one point from it.

Uruguay on the other hand sported good defense and squeezed out a 1-0 win against Jamaica who is participating in the tournament for the first time on CONCACAF’S invite. They are leading Group B currently with two points ahead of Argentina.

The champions will look to continue with their defense on Tuesday as well with in-form Maxi Pereira and skipper Diego Godan, having the responsibilities. Fernando Muslera will offer a tough time before the net.

However, Oscar Tabarez should know that his side wasn’t at their best against Jamaica although they won the match. And this should be a worry for him as Argentina will quite likely be successful in breaking their organized defense with their terrific attacking style.

Angel Di Maria and Javier Mascherano will be expected to control the midfield while the in-form Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi will lead the front to make and use their chances against Uruguay.

At this time, Uruguay would surely have liked the presence of their star player, Luis Suarez in their team. The Barcelona star is still under the FIFA ban, owing to him biting Giorgio Chiellini of Italy in last year’s World Cup.

In a report by CNN, Messi had shown concern over his team’s performance in the opener against Paraguay, saying that his team “fell asleep” after making a lightning start.

“Obviously it’s frustrating to be held to a draw after being 2-0 up, but we have to move on, think about Uruguay and improve. We have to keep the ball a bit more and manage the game,” the Argentine captain added.

The match gives an obvious feeling to be amazing and thrilling, but with Argentina’s hunger to make up for a painful loss in the quarterfinals of 2011 Copa America to Uruguay, the former has a slim chance of taking the match away.
