Chiranjeevi-Hosted ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ on MAA TV From Feb 13, 2017

Now that Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film “Khaidi No. 150” has been a megahit, the actor is foraying into the TV domain with his much-awaited and MAATV’s most successful program “Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu” from February 13, 2017.

The program will be aired from Monday to Thursday at 9:30 PM every night and it is likely that about 50 episodes will be telecast in this season.

The initial teasers in October showed that Chiranjeevi had stepped in to replace Akkineni Nagarjuna, the traditional host of the program on MAA TV. The new owners of MAA TV channel, the STAR TV, had initiating the audition queries and other pre-screenings over the phone in November but abruptly there was no word about the program that was scheduled to be aired in mid-December 2016.

Chiranjeevi had reportedly put it on hold as his 150th film “Khaidi No.150” was in the final stages of post-production and set for release on January 11, 2017 for Sankranti. Since the schedule could not see telecast of MEK 2017 before the film release, it was postponed.

The Telugu version of “Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu” has been immensely popular in AP, Telangana and Karnataka with Nagarjuna hosting the program and his Annapoorna Studios handling the project more efficiently over the last three years.

Both Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna have minor stake in MAA TV now, with STAR TV taking majority stake in their first Telugu TV channel to be acquired.
