Budget Live: Finance Minister Presenting Budget in Lok Sabha

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reached parliament with the iconic briefcase containing the budget papers at 10 am this morning and he will present his first full-year budget for the fiscal 2015-2016 at aound after 11.00 am, unless the opposition allows without too many interruptions. One of the notable absentees will be Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has taken leave of absence from attending the session from his mother and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Otherwise, other opposition parties may try to raise their concerns before the budget presentation. But by 12 noon, the budget presentation should get kicked off and it remains to be seen whether Arun Jaitley will sit and present the budget the way he did last time or not.

12:26: Medical concession 25,000 now. Service tax increased to 14%. Standard Deduction up from 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh with 50,000 for pension allocation.

12:07: Corporate tax reduced to 25% from 30% now.
