Late singer Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition is elusive, says her grandmother Cissy Houston, who said she is still “unresponsive” with “irreversible brain damage”, which means brain dead.
Cissy, the mother of late singer Whitney, spoke out about Bobbi’s condition after her father Bobby Brown claimed at a concert in Dallas on Saturday that his daughter was “awake” and “watching” him perform.
“I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma, she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive,” Cissy said in a statement, refuting virtually all that was said about her by her father.
“Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in god for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers,” she said in the statement.
Bobbi, 22, is still in a long-term care facility in Georgia and she was first hospitalized on January 31 after being discovered unconscious in the bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia home, allegedly due to over-usage of drugs.
In February, doctors tried to remove Bobbi from her medically induced coma, but owing to her violent seizures, they had to put her back into the comatose state immediately. And the daughter of Whitney too remained in a fragile state ever after.
Now that it is nearing three months, fans and relatives are wondering whether Whitney Houston’s daughter, who inherits her mother’s entire wealth, will ever come back to life or not.
Her father Bobby Brown, refuses to reveal her condition in the public and maintains that she is recovering and conscious.
Ironic, but the daughter too faced similar fate as her mother Whitney Houston who died when she was 48 years from accidental drowning due to drug abuse in a bathtub at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Whitney Houston’s bodyguard David Roberts, who was instrumental in making a film of her titled “The Bodyguard” told the media that Bobby Brown’s drug binge led the child too to get into the addiction.
Born on March 4, 1993, in Livingston, New Jersey, to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown amid many cousins and relatives, Bobbi Brown’s childhood was hit hard by her parents’ drug addiction and the presence of paparazzi. Her last days are ending in similar situation like her mother.
Under her mother’s will, Bobbi was the beneficiary of Houston’s entire estate including clothing, jewelry, cars, personal effects, and furniture and she was entitled to receive trust fund payments in installments until she reaches age 30. After 30, she will inherit the remainder of Houston’s $115 million estate.
There are two claimants to her property, if she dies. Her father on one side and her reportedly married boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was shunted out of the scene by her father now. Bobby Brown’s lawyer said in a statement in January 2015 that Bobbi “is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon”.
So, the question is when and who benefits?
