‘Bahubali 2’ Sold for Rs.500 Cr, Box Office Hopes on Rs.1000-Crore Mark

With three months away to its release, “Bahubali – The Conclusion”, which is a sequel to “Bahubali – The Beginning” has already created records in box office circles with a whopping amount of Rs. 500 crore paid for its satellite and theatrical rights. The film is all set to rake in Rs.1,000 crore, making it an epoch-making film in Indian film industry.

The film is still riding high on the popularity of its previous part and is slated to overwhelm the movie box office records through out the country since it will answer the puzzled nation’s unique question – “Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali ?”

Bahubali-The Conclusion is setting its eyes on Rs.1000-crore mark in box office collections.

Baahubali 2 is starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah and Sathyaraj in his typical role of Kattappa that has created ripples across the social media. SS Rajamouli as director with his father Vijayendra Prasad writing the story and script, the film has kept utmost secrecy about its story line, despite a leak of 9-minute video footage last year.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that the much-awaited film of 2017 “”Bahubali – The conclusion” with S.S. Rajamouli steering the magnum opus as director, has made humongous pre-release business of Rs.500 crore selling its theatrical and satellite rights.

Scheduled to be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on April 28, 2017, the film has reportedly generated Rs.120 crore for its Telugu version while the Hindi version has collected Rs.130 crore before its release worldwide.

The Tamil version’s distribution rights have reportedly fetched Rs.47 crore, with Karnataka fetching Rs.45 crore and Kerala too coughing up Rs.10 crore for the film. In another record-breaking deal, Sony TV Network has bought the satellite rights of Hindi version for Rs 51 crore.

  1. It will surely touch the benchmark of 1000 crores if we talk about the worldwide collection. The collection at the box office in India will go over 500 crores for sure.
