‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ or ‘Baahubali 2’ has surpassed all the existing collection records to reach a total of Rs.1,345 crore (nett. Rs.1,043 crore) in India with the revenues from Hindi version alone standing at Rs.502 crore nett. Including overseas collections of Rs307 crore and Telugu and Tamil versions, the global earnings are around Rs.1,600 crore.
With the success of Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” in China, where he is popular as Uncle khan, the producers of “Baahubali 2″ are gearing up for exploration of the Chinese market with a dubbed version that may hit more than 6,000 screens again.
Kishore Kedari of Arka Media Works told Koimoi:“It will be the next Indian film after Dangal to release in China, and we are excited about its possibilities.”
Besides the Chinese version, the Japanese and Korean versions will also hit the screens around the southeast Asian region and an English abridged version is in the pipeline for a worldwide release in English, currently being edited by a noted Hollywood editor, according to reports.
Meanwhile, superstar Aamir Khan’s Dangal received overwhelming response and it’s the first Indian film to enter the Rs 1000-crore mark in China. Dangal has officially beaten the records of Baahubali 2 to emerge as the highest grossing Indian film, raking in more than Rs 1700 crore worldwide.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishna and Sathyaraj in key roles, not only the firlm but also the actors have become nation symbols for viewers across all languages and the country.
