With the doubling of excise duty on imported mobile phones from 6% to 12.5% in the budget 2015 that was presented last Saturday, Apple has quickly increased its prices for iPhones by Rs.2,500 per unit, passing on the burden to its consumers.
The new price list reads Rs.2,500 more on every Apple iPhone product irrespective of GB storage capacity or variant.

It is not confirmed by the company about the effective date of hike in prices but retailers are reportedly selling it at new price list.
Apple’s latest iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus are the thinnest phones available from the tech giant but with big-screen display.
iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch HD (1334x750pixel) display and iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch (1920x1080pixel) display, and both the devices are powered by A8 processor and 1GB RAM and run on iOS 8 with an 8MP camera and 2,915mAh battery.
