Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan Living Separately, So What?

The rift between couples is not new, the scuffle between Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan is ancient but what’s new is that the top Bollywood couple are living separately, as revealed by their family friend Amar Singh. More shocking is that Big B has replied in positive when asked.

Samajwadi Party politician Amar Singh has claimed in an interview with Marathi news channel ABP Majha that Jaya was not taken into the Samajwadi Party on the advise of her husband considering her "inconsistent nature and habits". He even confirmed indirectly that there were problems between Jaya and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Amar Singh, known as modern day ‘Narada’ of Indian national politics, was blamed for creating rift between Ambani brothers in the past, now for creating rivalry between father-son duo of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav. However, vehemently denying the allegations, Amar Singh said:

"People blame me for every possible rift in the country. When the Ambanis split, they projected me as the person who created the Mahabharat between them. It wasn’t me. People have said the same about me and the Bachchans. But even before I met Amitabh Bachchan, he and Jaya Bachchan were living separately. One of them was living in Pratiksha and the other lives in his other bungalow Janak."

Ironic but Amitabh Bachchan, when asked about the revelations made by Amar Singh, merely said that the senior Samajwadi Party member and ally of Mulayam Singh Yadav was a friend and evaded a direct answer. Interestingly, the actor who has 24 million followers on Twitter and another 26 million on Facebook did not say a word about the controversy on his social media.

However, does it matter whether they live together or separately now? As long as people try to take advantage of old bonds in new situations, the controversies remain green.
