Airtel has woken up to depleting customer base by offering 30 GB of free 4G data under what it calls a ‘Surprise Offer’for its postpaid customers. The Airtel customers will now get 10 GB of data per month, for the next three months free of cost.
But now Airtel’s postpaid customers should subscribe to the surprise scheme through the MyAirtel app that is to be downloaded and complaints are that it was never works smooth affair.
Ookla, a broadband testing and web-based network diagnostic applications firm has recently named Airtel as India’s best smartphone network.
In view of rival Reliance Jio’s aggressive offer of “Prime” membership with Rs.99 and Rs.303 for 30 GB per month broadband width, Airtel has been forced to rescind on its offers but nowhere was it near Jio. Even Vodafone offered 10 GB 4G mobile services at the price of its 1 GB plan but none of them could make a dent into Jio’s market.

Airtel has also launched its 4G services in Jammu & Kashmir saying, “With this, Airtel 4G services are now available in all 22 telecom circles of the country.”
Some users of Airtel have already complained that the offer was not consistent as ultimately it comes to Rs.100 per 2 GB data, which is slightly better but nowhere near Jio’s offer of Rs.10 per 1 GB data per day.
