Mahesh Babu-starrer ‘Aagadu’ released in India on Friday, Sept. 19 and premiered in the US on Thursday was able to collect Rs.30 crore in its first weekend though falling behind the the three-day collection record of Rs.33 crore set by Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ last year.
Released in more than 2,000 theatres in India and 250 screens abroad, the film was expected to he a mega hit on its opening day with Rs.10 crore range but failed to pick up on the second day and even on Sunday.
Aagadu box office collections’ breakup was Rs 10.80 crore on Friday, Rs 8.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.50 crore on Sunday. Attarintiki Daredi had collected Rs 33 crore and remains the highest grosser Telugu movie in the first weekend.
Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the film features Mahesh Babu and Tamanna Bhatia starrer action comedy film released on Sept. 19, 2014 amid high expectations that the Mahesh Babu starrer would break all the records and nullify the flop effect created by his earlier film "1, Neenokkadine". However, the film was able to gross Rs.30 crore.
