Now that SS Rajamouli’s film “Baahubali” has become an all-time hit not merely in Telugu but in Indian history, the director’s name is heard everywhere with little focus on the cast. Otherwise, the film has more facts to list than mere names of actors and directors. It was a relentless hardwork coupled with devotion and deprivation of many ‘ordinary’ things to those behind making the magnum opus.

Here are some strange, unusual and untold truths about ‘Baahubali’:

  1. Bahubali, made with a big budget of Rs. 250 crore, has been by far the most expensive film ever made in India and holds a record in Guinness Book of World Record for largest film poster ever made, which is 50,000 sq feet poster that was unveiled in Kochi, Kerala. Film which was released in 4 different languages Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, crossed Rs. 200 crore mark at the Box Office in just 5 days.

  2. The same VFX team which worked for Hollywood film “Jurassic World” also contributed to S.S. Rajamouli’s film Bahubali. In fact, 90% part of the film is VFX work and 17 VFX studios worked on Bahubali, with more than 800 technicians used in the making of this epic movie. A heavy amount of Rs. 85 crore was spent only on its visual effects.

  3. Amazing VFX works of this fantastic film gave it enormous boost that on IMDB the film ‘Baahubali’ has been rated an unprecedented 9.3 out of 10, whereas the Hollywood film ‘300’, has scored 7.8, Inception 8.8 and Avengers: Age of Ultron 7.9 out of 10.

  4. Actor Prabhas, who gained massive fame for his role in the film, pushed his marriage date so he can focus and complete the film Bahubali on time. S.S. Rajamouli wanted everything to be perfect, and for a particular waterfall scene in the film, it took the crew around 109 days to shoot perfectly.

  5. The film’s leading actors Rana Daggubati and Prabhas followed a very strict diet to maintain their shape, both of them had a meal every 2 hours. They ate around 7-8 meals every day that included 40 egg white and very high in-take of non-vegetarian food, amounting to 2,000 to 4,000 calories per day. As demanded in the scripts, the actors had to go for a special training to be in the shape as required and Prabhas had bought special gym equipment worth about Rs.1.5 crore.

  6. Bahubali’s pre-production work took almost 1 full year to finish, which happens to be the longest period for any Indian film till date. It is believed that the film’s success will make Prabhas the highest paid actor in Tollywood film industry. He will take home Rs. 20 crore for his performance.

  7. Trailer of the film Bahubali crossed 4 million views on Youtube in just 24 hours. It was like a storm that took over the internet, the moment Bahubali’s trailer was released.

  8. A whole new language was invented called ‘Kiliki’ for film’s warrior tribe ‘kalakeya’. The language has a resemblance with Game of Thrones‘s Dothraki and Elvish language that was created for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It consisted 750 words and 40 grammar rules.

  9. On the occasion of 100 years of Indian cinema, ‘Bahubali’ happened to be the only film to get featured on BBC’s documentary before its release, this has never happened with any other film ever.

  10. Rajamouli has the habit of not picking up heroines from his earlier films but Anushka has broken the jinx this time. She is the only heroin to be repeatedly cast in a Rajamouli film.
